Tentmakers Bible Mission sends missionaries, many of whom support themselves through their own work while they plant and strengthen local churches. We have done it that way since 1985 because the need was urgent then, and it still is.

What We Do
Planting churches. Training church planters. Together. Those three phrases describe everything we do.
Missionaries come and go. Funding shifts. Strategies get revised. A healthy local church, led by its own people and rooted in its own soil, continues.
What Shapes Us
The authority of Scripture, the centrality of the gospel, the supremacy of Christ..these are givens, not distinctives. They are the foundation from which these core values come.
Six convictions give TBM its particular shape: how we work, who we send, how we handle money, and how we understand the church's role in missions.
Where We Came From
In 1985, Tim and Joy Miles set their hearts on St. George, Utah. Tim had pastored for over a decade and was willing to support his family with tentmaking work while he planted a church.
Every mission board told him the same thing: raise full support first, then go. What he was not willing to do was wait. Tentmakers Bible Mission grew out of that conviction.
What We Believe
Every TBM missionary affirms the same doctrinal commitments before they are sent.
This is the ground we stand on together, stated plainly, so churches and supporters know exactly what they are partnering with.
TBM is directed by a board of pastors, businessmen, and former missionaries who serve without compensation. They set direction, guard the doctrine, and shepherd the families we send.
