Jonathan and Bethany Koehn

“...to declare Christ...” (Colossians 4:3-6). Wherever God takes us, and whatever language we are speaking, our desire is to declare Christ. He has led us through many places: Guyana, Peru, Utah, and now among the Hispanic community of Colorado, and we praise Him for the privilege.

God brought us into full-time ministry in 2007, serving in Guyana and Peru before He directed us to reach Hispanics in the fall of 2012. The door opened through Pastor Charlie of Grace Bible Church in Parachute, who asked whether we would minister to the Hispanic community there. On Resurrection Sunday, March 31, 2013, Casa de La Biblia (House of the Bible) began meeting in a public room of the Parachute Public Library. In 2014 God provided a building, given to our partnering church, Grace Bible Church, for the Hispanic and Latino ministry, and that is where we meet today.

Jonathan
I was born in 1981 to parents, Delton and Joleen Koehn, who raised me in God's Word, and I trusted Christ as my Savior around age nine or ten. I grew up across Texas, New Mexico, California, and Utah, which I believe was God's way of preparing me for cross-cultural ministry. After running a computer graphics business, I was called into full-time ministry and attended Frontier School of the Bible (FSB), graduating in 2007 with a degree in missions and minors in pastoral and youth ministry.

In the fall of 2007 I stepped into full-time missionary work in Guyana, where God directed me toward church planting and opened doors in Peru. I joined Tentmakers Bible Mission and returned to Peru, where, in the summer of 2009, I also started dating Bethany. We married in June 2010 and were in Peru three weeks later, serving as a missionary pastor and wife in a church in Tarapoto for about eleven months. God then led us back to the States, first to Coalville, Utah, to work among the Latter-day Saints, and eventually to Parachute, Colorado, to reach the Hispanic community. He has used every step to prepare us for the next. God has blessed us with three children: Hadassah, Ezekiel, and Elisha.

Bethany
I was born in 1989 in Delaware and grew up in Montana with believing parents. I trusted Jesus as my Savior around age six during a family devotion, and at eight I felt God calling me to missions. Over time He honed that call through His Word and through Bible college. I attended Frontier School of the Bible, graduating in 2010, and served along the way through children's ministry, camp counseling, and a role as a resident assistant. I joined Tentmakers Bible Mission after graduating and went on a two-month mission trip to Peru, where Jonathan and I began to get to know each other. After we married in 2010, we ministered in Tarapoto, Peru, then followed God's leading to Utah and now to Parachute, Colorado, where we are planting a Spanish-speaking church. I am glad to follow Jesus alongside my husband until He takes me Home.
