Frank and Salud Benoit

Frank and Salud's mission is to help plant and develop Bible-based evangelical churches in Spain, especially in the towns southwest of Seville, in cooperation with the Federation of Independent Evangelical Churches of Spain (FIEIDE), and to strengthen the wider evangelical church in Spain through sound biblical teaching and discipleship.

They have served at the Puebla del Río Evangelical Church since 1988 in pastoral ministry and church development, working toward a self-sustaining congregation. The church has had its own building since 1999 and now numbers thirty-five to forty people; they hope in time to see a Spanish pastor take on long-term leadership. Frank has also taught Bible, theology, church history, hermeneutics, and Bible study methods at the Al-Andalus Theological Seminary near Seville since 2003, helping prepare Spanish Christians for local church ministry.

Frank and Salud married in Spain in 1989 and have served under TBM since 1991. Both grew up in non-believing homes and trusted Christ in their mid-to-late teens.

Frank is from New Mexico. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1981 with a degree in history and geography, and from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1984 with a master's in biblical studies, later completing a doctor of ministry in 2009. He served with TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) from 1984 to 1989 and went to Spain under TEAM, where he met Salud at the church in Coria del Río.

Salud is from Coria del Río, in Seville province. She taught Sunday school there for seven years, three of them as director, studied at Rio Grande Bible Institute in Texas, and holds a pedagogy diploma from Child Evangelism Fellowship. She has taught Sunday school for thirty years and continues discipleship and counseling with women.

In 2001 Frank was appointed TBM Spain Field Director for the five TBM families then serving in the country. Over the years he has worked various tentmaking jobs to help provide for the family, teaching at an English academy and serving as chaplain for American university students in Seville, with tentmaking income at times covering twenty to fifty percent of their support. Frank and Salud have two children, Jonathan and Elisabeth.
