Serving in Tarapoto , Peru
Delwin and Techy planted Community Bible Church in Tarapoto, Peru, where they train pastors for village churches throughout the surrounding jungle region.
Our Ministry
Delwin and Techy's passion is to teach through books of the Bible as they start churches and evangelize, making disciples and training leaders along the way. They started Community Bible Church in Tarapoto in August 2007, a church that both serves its community and models training for area pastors. They also travel occasionally to nearby villages for camps, conferences, and mini Bible institutes.
Tentmakers Bible Mission accepted them as missionaries in May 2002 to start churches and train leaders in a high jungle area of Peru. They live in Tarapoto, in the state of San Martín, focused on starting churches and training pastors for the village churches of the surrounding area.
About Us
Delwin and Techy were born in different countries and very different cultures, to parents who prayed for their children's future spouses from the time of their conception. Both grew up in solid Christian homes, accepted Christ early, and later dedicated themselves to God's service at summer camps.
Delwin graduated from Frontier School of the Bible in 1987 and Calvary Bible College in 1989. After an internship as a youth pastor and a year of Spanish study in Costa Rica, God led him to Peru in 1991. In Lima he met Techy, whose full name is Maria Esther Ramirez; she holds a degree in preschool education and studied Bible at a seminary in Lima. They married in 1997 and worked as independent missionaries before being accepted by Tentmakers. They have four children, Marcos (Allison), Lucas (Taylor), Sarah (Jonathan), and Jenifer.
