Alex pastors a Bible Church in Russia, a work he took over from earlier TBM missionaries, with a vision to plant further Bible-teaching churches across the country.
Our Ministry
Under TBM's guidance, Alex and Sveta pray that Saint Petersburg Bible Church (SPBC) will continue to grow and that other Bible-teaching churches will be planted across Russia.
In 2000, Alex went to Saint Petersburg with TBM missionaries Bob and Sherry Hollopeter. During his first year he completed a Scofield Bible correspondence course, then spent five years studying under the Hollopeters, gaining experience in the life of the church. In 2004 he was appointed an elder of SPBC, and the following year was ordained by Rocky Mountain Bible Church in Frisco, Colorado, around the same time he and Sveta joined Tentmakers Bible Mission. When the Hollopeters left Saint Petersburg in April 2006, Alex took on full responsibility as pastor.
About Us
Alex
I was born and raised in an atheist family in Belarus, then part of the Soviet Union. At twenty-five I became a believer in an evangelical church, and I left for the United States two months later. There I joined Rocky Mountain Bible Church, grew in my faith, and felt God's call to ministry. In 2000, after much thought and prayer, I went to Russia to serve with Bob and Sherry at Saint Petersburg Bible Church. There I met a wonderful woman the Lord had brought from Kazakhstan, who became my wife.
Sveta
I was born and raised in Kazakhstan, also in an atheist family. At fourteen I received Christ after watching the Jesus Film, and I attended a Bible-teaching church where I grew in the Lord. I came to Saint Petersburg to study at the university, earning a master's degree in techniques and technology. I attended Saint Petersburg Bible Church, where I met and married Alex.
